AGAHE Hosts International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women Seminar

AGAHE, with the financial support of the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund and in collaboration with the Punjab Social Protection Authority, organized a one day seminar on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women in District Okara under the RSS and CR Project. The event brought together more than two hundred participants, including Ms. Jahan Ara Watto Vice Chairperson Punjab Social Protection Authority who inaugurated the 16 Days of Activism. Other distinguished guests included Mr. Nadir Gul Baraich Chief Executive Officer Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (virtually), Mr. Arshad Ali Rashid Chief Programs Officer Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (virtually), Ms. Arbeela from Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (virtually), Ms. Zeba Ghafoor Member of Provincial Assembly, Ms. Mumtaz Raees Member of Provincial Assembly, Mr. Mubarak Ali Sarwar Chief Executive Officer AGAHE, Dr. Fawad Chief Executive Officer Health, Mr. Ibrar Ahmad Assistant Director Social Welfare, Mr. Hassan Mehmood Deputy Director Benazir Income Support Programme, Mr. Umra Shaikah Director General Communication Punjab Social Protection Authority, and Ms. Ayesha from the Public Health Engineering Department.
The seminar featured a panel discussion addressing different forms of harassment including social and online harassment, along with practical strategies to prevent and respond to violence against women.The seminar concluded with a collective pledge by all participants to work towards a safer, more respectful, and more inclusive environment for women.
