AGAHE organized a seminar on World Social Justice Day 2025 on February 20, under the RSS & CR Project, supported by PPAF, in collaboration with the Social Welfare Department in Kasur. The seminar focused on the theme of Social and Environmental Justice. Ms. Kanwal Liaqat, Parliamentary Secretary for Environment Protection & Climate Change, attended as the Chief Guest, alongside other influential figures from health, education, DDMA, media, the Chamber of Commerce, academia, members of VOs/COS, and prominent representatives from Civil Defense and Rescue 1122. More than 200 people, including both men and women, attended the seminar.
The seminar aimed to raise awareness about the critical role of social justice in fostering an equitable society and highlighted the importance of environmental justice in addressing global challenges. It focused on pressing issues such as poverty, inequality, discrimination, and exclusion, emphasizing the urgent need for policies that uphold human rights and promote inclusivity. The event also reinforced the idea that social justice and environmental justice are key drivers in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By addressing the intersection of social justice and climate change, the seminar underscored their importance as essential elements for building a fair, equal, and sustainable society.
