Pakistan Saaf Pani Authority, in collaboration with AGAHE and WHH, commemorated World Water Day 2025 under the theme “Glacier Preservation, Water Governance, and System Advancement.” The event brought together representatives from government departments, development partners, Academia, UN agencies, media, and the private sector across Punjab.
The Special Guests including Mr. Ahmar Sohail Kaif, Additional Secretary LG&CD Department and Syed Zahid Aziz, CEO of Punjab Saaf Pani Authority graced the event. Stakeholders deliberated water sector reforms including climate resilience, water safety & quality, accelerating the progress to improve access of people to equitable and sustainable water services for all.
A key highlight of the event was a panel discussion on Water Governance and System Advancement, featuring experts from academia, government, and development organizations. The discussion addressed critical challenges and provided actionable recommendations for systemic improvements, policy reforms and strategic planning to pave the way for achieving national targets under Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6.
Emphasizing the importance of clean water, AGAHE shared a standard climate resilient and sustainable Water Filtration Plant equipped with an integrated operation and maintenance mechanism to ensure water conservation and long-term sustainability.
This event showcased the collective commitment of all the WASH Actors working in Punjab for coordinated and collective efforts for Water Sector Reforms in the province.
